Yeah it took me a while to beat Gill in the original SF3: New Generation and 2nd Impact (before 3rd strike came out). You could tell when he was going to resurrect himself because he falls to the ground in slo mo. That's your time to dash up to him and hit him before he recovers too much health.
The only way you're going to get better is by getting your ass handed to you. It'll make you understand the mechanics more and what to do in certain situations. Not just button mash.
Same here Jwatt. When i was preordering on Thursday the clerk said "We're having a midnight release, you should drop by". I think this will be my first midnight launch event.
I wasn't going to preorder Killzone 2 just drop by the store and pick up my copy on release day. But after SF4 on Ps3 being sold out everywhere i decided to pre order KZ2 to be on the safe side.
I actually don't usually eat anything while i game. Drink Gatorade or Diet Peach Snapple maybe. But i don't usually eat anything. Good suggestions though.

The turn around time is about a week and a half. They'll fix your 60 gig and not give you a crappy 40 or 80 gig. At least they gave me my 60 gig back (same serial number). Just make sure you say you want YOUR 60 gig model back.
In the US at least it is. I been to 3 different Gamestops and Blockbusters and they were sold out of the Ps3 version. But they had the 360 versions in spades. "Sorry we're sold out. I have no idea when we'll be getting new shipments".
They were already sort of doing a outline for GoW3 (they've said as much) but most of it was just that the design process. And with Balrog leaving after GoW2 and Stig having his own idea's for story along with learning Ps3 tech. And well start to get a somewhat better outline of things. GoW2 just came out in 2007. I'd be surprised if it came out this year. I'm not sure about MAG coming out this year as well.
Great interview and i completely agree with the "Cult of Exceptionalism" thing going on now a days not just in video games but in all forms of media and everyday life it seems.
I'll be honest. Killzone 2 is the best looking game coming out. Currently. Technicality wise. But there's games out there with much more interesting art direction. Doesn't take away from the fact that KZ2 is quite a technical feat. So it took a few years to come out, at least it's not vaporware. Gameplay wise from what i played out of the demo it's a solid shooter. Nothing special but nothing terrible/bad. It's what i expected.
The online however looks to be sensational. TF2 mee...

I agree with what most people here said. I agreed with everything up until the "bang for your buck" category. At the very least it could have been a tie. Because $400 for everything the Ps3 can do really is good value.
Unfortunately SF3 (3rd strike, giant attack and the original) is looked down on a bit because the mainstream media didn't like the characters. That and it was too technical for them. Someone halfway decent at parrying would make Hadoken's and Shoryuken's on wakeup and Jump in's superfluous. But again most people couldn't really get into it so it's pegged usually as "not as good as SF2T".
Yeah but most of those DK games are like Bongo Blast or something. They have more or less abandoned DK after the N64 games. It's a shame because i actually enjoyed DK as much as i enjoyed Sonic as a kid.
Creative? Alot of the PSN games like Flower, Echochrome, Pixeljunk Eden, Flow and some others are pretty creative. Folklore and Afrika as well which are both pretty under rated because they are a bit unusual. And let me not forget Valkyrie Chronicles. Both console have some creative games though. Viva Pinata is under rated.
Donkey Kong, the most under rated series of games Nintendo ever created. It's a shame to see Rare not produce something like DK: Country in a long while.
I'm pretty sure MOST of us here knows that already about the 360. It's not just a Live thing, it works even if you're not online.
Though it's a nice little addition to be able to play Killzone 2 online and blasting fools while listening to High Contrast.

No no no i need Cap 'Merica to be in MvC3 if it comes out. I've pissed off so many of my friends off by pulling off a final justice just when they thought they were going to win. Though i would settle for MvC/2 on PSN and XBLA with regular vs online play ala MK2.
Probably the best Killzone 2 review i've read out of the lot of them. Besides the spoilers that i had to carefully dodge it was pretty informative and i enjoyed reading it quite a bit. I could have cared less if it had a score attached to it or not.
